Coir Mat is a woven fabric of high strength coir twine made from well-cleaned, fresh water cured coconut fiber, it naturally absorbs and retains water while retaining its integrity and providing an ideal microclimate for the growth of vegetation.
Four to six years longevity allows establishment of vegetation.
Provides effective erosion control of steep slopes and high velocity flow channels
Provides economic and evironmentally sound stabilization of stream banks and shorelines.
High tensile strength and durability make it suitable for severe erosion control problems.
Open mesh construciton provides excellent opportunity for the growth of vegetation.
Adds fertility to the soil after biodegrading.
Coir Logs (9”x20 ft & 12”)
Coir logs are natural coconut fiber logs encased in high tensile strength coir twine netting. There are common sizes 9”x20ft, 12”x 10ft and 9” x 20ft.
Product biodegrades in 3 to 5 years, allowing establishment of vegetation.
Coir Logs have applications in wetland mitigation, shoreline stabilization and stream bank/channel protection.
Coir Logs help to dissipate the impact from wave action and flows.
Sediment trapped by the coir log as well as the ability of the coir fiber to absorb and retain moisture provides an ideal medium for vegetation establishment and growth.
During installation, seedling or plant cuttings can be planted into the coir log.
